As a young girl I would dream of traveling the globe and encouraging others as I was named “Journie” to do just that. I always felt in my heart that I was made for something great but everything in my life said the opposite. I grew up with intense situations in my home and being radically oppressed by the demonic. By God’s grace, I was set free of all oppression in highschool as I encountered Jesus as Lord and since then he has also redeemed a lot with my family. I was so gripped by his love that all I wanted to do was tell others about this man Jesus that changed my life.
It really wasn’t until I was 18 that I stepped into that call after going to a missions oriented stadium gathering called the Send. I gave my whole hearted yes to go anywhere God sends me. Months later, I went backpacking in Guatemala with a friend for a couple of weeks ministering to European backpackers who were traveling far and wide to find purpose. Through that experience I knew that the Lord wasn’t just calling me to a certain Nation or people group but he was calling me to an entire generation of young people that didn’t know the truth. That is when I did a Discipleship training school and later joined staff with YWAM Circuit Riders.
I am going into my third year of being on staff with CR and it has left me in awe of all that God has done. Circuit riders’ primary focus is our generation.
We tour every year to universities across America, Africa and Europe hosting gatherings to see the lost getting saved, healed and delivered and train others to walk in obedience to the things that the Lord has called them to.
I’ve had the privilege of leading one of these tours to the Southern region of the United States and have seen thousands gathered, hundreds saved and many incredible miracles take place. After tours in America, I got to serve alongside churches in Burundi and Egypt to train young evangelists in their city. My team and I recently went to Burundi last May and I was in tears everyday as we saw a thousand souls be saved everyday and people meet Jesus as the healer. At the end of our week, evangelism was trending on WhatsApp as young Burundians would openly preach with us in the streets and 5,000 collectively gave their lives to Jesus.
In the coming months I will be going on a tour to the southeast of the United States to gather and empower women to live fully activated in their call. Then will be serving international tours and crusades in Europe, Mexico and Africa. I am incredibly grateful and expectant for what God will do next.
